What does Whip Gold do?

Whip Gold helps small brands, salons, wellness businesses, creators and boutique retailers launch small-batch skincare, haircare and personal care products without needing large minimum order quantities.

Our starter range covers five products: Hand Wash, Moisturising Lotion, Shampoo, Conditioner and Moisturising Cream.

What products can I order now?

Our current starter range includes:

• Hand Wash: 250 mL, 500 mL or 1 L pump bottles
• Moisturising Lotion: 250 mL, 500 mL or 1 L pump bottles
• Shampoo: 250 mL, 500 mL or 1 L pump bottles
• Conditioner: 250 mL, 500 mL or 1 L pump bottles
• Moisturising Cream: 100 mL white or black jars with a hygienic foil seal

Every product is available unscented or in one of 10 scents, and is supplied unlabelled in small batch quantities.

What scents are available?

Every product can be made unscented or with one of our 10 fragrances:

• French Vanilla: sweet vanilla bean
• Tahitian Vanilla: vanilla, coconut cream and butterscotch
• Citrus: bergamot and soft floral notes
• Lemon Blossom: bright citrus and floral notes
• Sea Minerals: fresh coastal notes
• Neroli: citrus blossom and jasmine
• Lavender: classic floral lavender
• Orange Blossom: soft floral and citrus notes
• Green Tea and Lotus: fresh and floral
• Sandalwood Petals: soft floral sandalwood

Using the same scent across your hand wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner gives you a matching set.

What bottle and jar colours can I choose?

Pump bottle products come in White, Black, Amber or Clear PET bottles. All bottles are fitted with a black pump closure.

Moisturising Cream jars come in White or Black. Choose your colour when you order.

The colour option applies to the bottle or jar only. The product inside is our standard formula and is not tinted or coloured.

Are the products labelled?

Not as standard. Batches are supplied unlabelled, which keeps the first step simple and lets you test the product before committing to full branding.

When you are ready, Whip Gold can design your labels, print and apply them, and pack your products into your own boxes or packaging. See Can Whip Gold design and apply my labels? below.

Can I use my own brand name?

Yes. The products are suitable for private label branding.

You can use your own business name, product name and brand direction. Labels and branding are handled separately after the basic batch is ordered.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order is 10 units per product, size, colour and scent.

Starter batches are designed for small businesses that want to test demand without committing to hundreds or thousands of units.

Do you offer discounts on larger orders?

Yes. Larger orders are available at discounted prices, and the more you order, the lower the price per unit. We can also quote bulk batches of up to 200 L. Larger orders can be secured with a 50% deposit.

Why are the batches so small?

Whip Gold is designed for small brands and early-stage product launches.

Small batches allow you to test your idea, create samples, sell to existing customers, build launch content or supply your own business before scaling up.

Do I need to have an existing brand?

No. You can start with a basic unlabelled batch first.

This gives you a way to test the product, create content, gather feedback and decide how you want to position your brand before investing in labels and packaging design.

Can Whip Gold design and apply my labels?

Yes. We offer a full labelling and packing service, so your products arrive ready to sell:

• Label design: we create label artwork for your brand, including the ingredient list and other details your labels need
• Printing and application: we print your labels and apply them to every bottle or jar
• Packing into your packaging: we insert your finished products into your own boxes, bags or gift packs

You can use one service or all three. Labelling and packing are quoted separately from the product batch. Tell us what you need through our contact form and we'll send you the details.

Can I supply my own labels?

Yes. You may be able to supply your own labels, provided they are suitable for the packaging format and meet the required size, material and application requirements.

Whip Gold can confirm label specifications after your batch is ordered. If you'd like us to apply your labels, or pack your products into your own packaging, just ask through our contact form.

Labelling Your Products in Australia

If you're selling our products under your own brand, your labels need to meet Australian rules. Here's a summary to help you get them right.

Do my products need to meet Australian labelling rules?

Yes. Hand wash, moisturising lotion, shampoo, conditioner and moisturising cream are cosmetic products, so they must follow the Consumer Goods (Cosmetics) Information Standard 2020, which the ACCC enforces. This applies to cosmetics made in Australia for sale here and to imported ones.

What does the ingredient list need to look like?

• It must be prominent and clearly legible.
• Use INCI names (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) or English names.
• List ingredients in descending order by weight or volume. Alternatively, list those at 1% or more in descending order, then those under 1% in any order.
• You don't need to show percentages.

Can I just write "Fragrance" or "Parfum"?

Yes. A fragrance can be declared as "Parfum" (or "Fragrance") rather than listing each component.

Do you provide the ingredient list and manufacturer details?

Yes. We supply the INCI ingredient list for each product and our manufacturer details for your label. You can also see each product's ingredient list on its product page.

What else needs to be on the label?

• The product name and type, for example "Hand Wash".
• Net contents in mL, for example 500 mL. The National Measurement Institute's trade measurement rules cover the format and placement.
• The name and address of the packer (for us, Whip Gold Pty. Ltd.).

You don't need to allow space for a batch code or expiry date. We apply these to the underside of every bottle and jar.

Can the ingredients go on a box or bag instead of the bottle?

Possibly. The Standard says the list must be on the "container", which it defines as the container or wrapper the product is packed in. If your bottles will be sold inside your own box, bag or other packaging, the list can go on that packaging, as long as it stays with the product until it is sold. If a bottle may ever be sold or given away on its own, put the list on the bottle.

The "size, shape or nature" exception is meant for products too small or awkward to label, so it won't apply to a 500 mL bottle.

How much room will I need on the label?

A full ingredient list takes more space than you'd expect. A standard 2.25" label leaves little room, so a larger rectangular label or a back label is often neater. Tell us your preferred size when you send your artwork, or let us design the label for you.

What claims can I make on the label?

Keep to cosmetic claims such as cleansing and moisturising. Claims like "antibacterial" or "kills germs" can bring a product under the Therapeutic Goods Administration's rules, which are much stricter.

What happens if a label doesn't comply?

The ACCC can impose fines and penalties, and a supplier may have to recall a product that doesn't meet the Standard.

Are the formulas custom?

The starter range uses standard Whip Gold base formulas.

This keeps the process simple, practical and suitable for small batches. Fully custom formulation may be considered later, but the current focus is on standard formulas, standardised packaging and low-risk launch quantities.

Can I change the scent, packaging or ingredients?

You can choose from 10 scents (or unscented) and your bottle or jar colour when you order. The colour choice is for the packaging only; we don't offer coloured or tinted formulas.

Other changes, such as a different fragrance or ingredient changes, may be possible for larger quantities. Email us before ordering and we'll let you know what's possible.

Are the products made in Australia?

Yes. Whip Gold products are handcrafted in small batches on the Mornington Peninsula, Australia.

What does “small-batch” mean?

Small-batch means products are made in smaller production runs rather than large factory-scale quantities.

This approach is well suited to emerging brands, test batches, small retail launches, client gifts and businesses wanting to start carefully before scaling up.

How does ordering work?

Choose your product, then select the size, bottle colour and scent, and pay upfront through the website.

After your order is received, Whip Gold will contact you by email to confirm product details, production timing, packaging and any optional label support.

Do I pay upfront?

Starter batches ordered through the website are paid in full upfront. This secures your production spot and keeps the process simple.

Larger orders can be secured with a 50% deposit upfront. Contact us for details and a quote.

Production begins once your order (or deposit) and final batch details have been confirmed.

How long does production take?

Starter batches are typically ready in under 2 weeks.

Exact timing depends on current batch scheduling, ingredient availability, packaging availability and order volume. Whip Gold will confirm estimated timing by email after your order is received.

Is shipping included?

Shipping is calculated at checkout or confirmed separately depending on the product, batch size and delivery address.

Small batches are generally packed for parcel delivery. Larger or custom orders may require separate freight arrangements.

What packaging do you use?

The starter range uses standardised packaging to keep the process efficient:

• 250 mL, 500 mL and 1 L PET pump bottles in white, black, amber or clear, all with black pump closures, for hand wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner
• 100 mL moisturising cream jars in white or black, with a hygienic foil seal

Every unit has a batch code and expiry date on its underside.

Can I order samples first?

Starter batches are already designed to be small and low-risk. If you'd like something smaller to begin with, drop us a line and we'll see what we can arrange.

Can I resell the products?

Yes. The products are designed to support private label and small business resale, provided your final labelling, product claims and sales materials are appropriate for your market.

You are responsible for ensuring your brand, product claims and final labels are suitable for how you intend to sell the product.

Can I make therapeutic claims?

No therapeutic or medical claims should be made unless you have obtained appropriate regulatory advice and approvals.

The products should be positioned as cosmetic or personal care products. Avoid claims relating to treating, curing or preventing medical conditions.

Can I sell these products online?

Yes. These products can be suitable for ecommerce, salon retail, boutique retail, gifting and direct customer sales.

You will need your own product images, labels, product descriptions and sales channel setup.

What products may be available in the future?

Whip Gold may expand into:

• cleansers
• body wash
• salon products
• serums
• additional jar formats
• additional pump bottle formats

Can I build a matching range?

Yes. Many businesses start with one product, then add others in the same scent and bottle colour. A hand wash and lotion pair suits bathrooms, salons and gift sets. Shampoo and conditioner suit salons, barbers and gyms.

Can I order larger quantities later?

Yes. The goal is to help you start small, test demand and grow carefully.

What happens after I place an order?

After checkout, Whip Gold will contact you by email to confirm your order and offer optional product label support if required.

What if I need help choosing a product?
